Yesterday was pretty much a perfect Saturday.
Adventure. Friends. The Beach. Beer. Good eats.
It also came together kind of last minute. Sometimes, the best days are when you don't put too much planning into them.
Last year for my birthday, Kaela gave me a gift certificate to Montauk Brewing Co. I was so busy last year and we were gone the whole summer, that we just never made it out to Montauk.
The last time we visited was for Ant's 24th birthday in 2012. We stayed overnight and I brought him to MBC for some beers. We absolutely loved their beer and we even ended up getting a keg for our engagement party later that year. Needless to say, we have been big fans for awhile.
MBC was bumpin for a winter weekend day. It's off season on the East end, but you wouldn't have known. We had some beers and then ate at The Salt Box. We ordered the garlic fries with truffle aioli for an appetizer and it was superb. For my main coarse, I had the lobster roll which was so,so good. It was a real treat.
With happy bellies, (and our GoPro and selfie stick) we headed to the Lighthouse to watch the sunset. It was beautiful. I love being by/near/on/at the water. I feel a sense of peace, calm, freedom and happiness. It's in me and I think it comes from growing up on LI. I absolutely love living on a coast and that I can experience some body of water at any time.
Ant vlogged our day.
Enjoy: Montauk from an Ants perspective.
