Our first day went surprisingly smooth. When you travel, there usually is some kind of annoyance, but we really lucked out. Our flight was on time..infact we landed early. I sat next to a mother and small baby and the baby didn’t cry once and was so well-behaved. Our checked bags came out fast. We picked up our car with no issues.
YEAH Denver, CO!
Why did we start in Colorado? My bestie from college, lives in Glenwood Springs. I have not seen her in an over a year. Britt and I talk every day. She’s usually the first person I say good morning to (besides Ant of course) and we have lengthy conversations through out the day. I couldn’t wait to see her and where she lives and meet their dogs, Tux and Drake.
We had an awesome lunch at Acorn. It was in the Source Building. This cool location had a bunch two eateries, an espresso bar, florist (filled with succulants and air plants <3) bakery, a butcher shop, and a gallery featuring some cool art for sale. For lunch, I had shrimp & grits with a iced blackberry tea. Ant had a pork belly BLT with a lemon ginger iced tea. YUM.
The drive to Glenwood Springs was beautiful. The canyon and rock formations were awesome. I enjoyed watching Ant’s expressions because he’s never seen anything like it. We enjoyed listening to Aziz Ansari's Modern Romance. It's a good listen/read.
Britt and her boyfriend, Erik had an itinerary lined up for us. They took us to Hanging Lake, which is an amazing lake at the top of the canyon. Ant did great hiking up. He was like a gazelle. Damn long legs. The sight was amazing. It was well worth the hike.
We went to this cute donut shop called Coloradough (HOW FUN) and they took us jeepin through the transfer trail. It was pretty awesome and the views were breathtaking.
Thanks for the great hospitality, Britt!
